Download Yahoo messenger 10 Final offline installer

Most of the users might prefer Yahoo messenger over other chat clients like Google talk,myspace, AIM , MSN etc.I prefer Yahoo messenger more than any of the chat clients.I had posted about the Yahoo messenger 10 Beta offline installer, now the final version of yahoo messenger 10 is released.This latest version (10.0.0.1102) incorporates many bug fixes, including some related to new video call feature along with improved overall stability of the product.Here is a small excerpt taken from the Yahoo! High-quality video calls
We’ve completely redesigned our 1:1 webcam feature (under the hood too). Now you can make a high-quality video call to a friend with synched audio, right in the IM window. Features include the ability to swap video windows, position the video windows side-by-side, mute the call or place it on hold. You can even go full-screen with your video call. To get started, click the new “Video Call” button in the IM window (your friend also needs to be on Yahoo! Messenger 10).

New “Y! Updates” view of your contact list
People are busy these days, doing all sorts of interesting things online. To help you keep up with your friends, we added an alternate view of your contact list that shows a real-time stream of their updates, including Messenger status message changes. If they’ve opted-in to share their updates via Yahoo!, you’ll be able to see what they’re saying on Twitter, reading on Yahoo! Buzz, listening to on last.fm, and more.

We also added additional features for how and when you see your friends’ updates. When a new update comes in, a “toast” alert will pop up in the lower right corner of your screen. If you want to disable these, go to Messenger > Preferences > Yahoo! Updates. You can turn alerts on and off and even update preferences by contact or by type of update.

Find more to chat about
Within the new “Yahoo! Updates” view, you’re sure to find more to talk about with your friends. To make it easy, we added a hover menu that lets you quickly IM a friend about their update. When you do, the update appears inline in the conversation window, so when you start your IM with “I can’t believe you like this song!”, your friend will know what you’re talking about. Note that your friend needs to also be on Yahoo! Messenger 10 to see the update inline.

Fix to Gtalk freezing with Winamp

Most of you are in the habit of setting up your Yahoo Messenger or Google talk statuses with song which you are currently playing in Winamp or Windows Media Player.For yahoo messenger you get plugins to set the status of the Current playing song.One such plugin is Messenger Data Plugin.In case of Google talk some times users encounter frequent freezing  of Google talk and it doesn’t respond when Winamp is playing the song you like and Show current playing track is clicked.This is due to the fact that Google talk supports Windows Media player, iTunes and some other media players, for other players it freezes or hangs. Even though you re-install Google talk or Winamp it doesn’t solve the problem.So what do you do now ?

The fix for the same is

Create a blank winamp.m3u file in the Winamp install directory(Ex: C:\Program Files\Winamp) and start both gtalk and winamp. This should solve your problem and it should work fine.Do let it me know if it worked or not.

Microsoft introduces OneApp

In this geek era,Many of the mobile junkeys are into hi-fi modern cellphones,so that they can flaunt and use the respective apps like Facebook,twitter,yahoo messenger etc.But what about the rest of the users who are not able to use this on their phones.Microsoft OneApp,a new software application that will allow feature phones to run mobile apps like Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live Messenger, and other popular applications and games. OneApp complements Microsoft’s existing mobile strategy by bringing mobile apps and services to feature phones in emerging markets.

OneApp’s software plus services design enables mobile apps to run on feature phones that have limited memory and processing capability. (What we call “feature phones” are devices –very often found in emerging markets — that can connect to basic data services and install applications.) Customers will experience OneApp on their phone as a single application where they can easily access all of their mobile apps.

OneApp runs on most of the feature phones which support Java.The application is just 150Kb.OneApp uses data networks very efficiently to help lower data access charges, which can really create substantial savings for the customer.OneApp includes cloud services that can help shift processing and storage weight from the phone to the Internet, which improves overall performance. The following phones are currently supported:

* Nokia – 3555, 5320, 6300, 6500, 6600, E50, E51, E63, E65, E66, E71, N70, N72, N73, N78, N80, N81, N82, N85, N95, N96
* Samsung – U900 Soul
