Opera 10.10 along with Opera unite has been released which gives you more new and improved features and enhancements with respect to stability.Opera’s latest Web browser introduces a new technology platform, Opera Unite, allowing you to stream music or share files, photos and more, right from the browser.

Intel Accused of Giving Dell $6 Billion for Exclusivity

The state of New York has filed a lawsuit against Intel Corp. accusing the chip giant of paying billions of dollars to computer makers in order to discourage them from using microprocessors by Advanced Micro Devices(AMD). Dell alone allegedly received $6 billion dollars between 2002 and 2007 and sometimes those payments exceeded Dell’s profits.

The lawsuit alleges Intel paid computer makers, including IBM and HP, to discourage them from utilizing microprocessors produced by Intel’s arch-rival AMD, reports Dow Jones Newswires. For example, as a part of the agreement, Intel compensated below-cost bids against rivals offering AMD-based desktops, servers or workstations by Dell in order to slowdown the increase of AMD’s market share.

Under a secret pact named the “Mother of all Programs”, Intel paid Dell a rebate based on the total cost of central processing units the computer maker bought, the lawsuit claims. The percentage of the rebate could fluctuate, but reached up to 16% as Dell mulled over using AMD processors. Moreover, in one fiscal quarter Intel’s payments constituted 116% of Dell’s reported net income, according to the lawsuit.

Intel has already faced similar lawsuits in Europe, Japan, South Korea and the U.S., therefore, the current accusations hardly change the situation drastically.Dell, HP and Dell declined to comment, but Intel added that it would defend itself. IBM said it would co-operate with the investigation.I donno if this is true or not but these things could happen.What do you feel ?

Windows 7 to be out by October 22nd confirmed

Read some awesome news of the release date of Windows 7 to be on October 22nd.Cnet gave this news.The official date on which Windows 7 will be available for general purchase is October 22, 2009. The RTM code will be delivered to partners at the second half of July.So my previous posts about the release date of october 23 along with Paul thurrot prediction was almost correct.Missed by a day. :roll:

In addition, Microsoft has confirmed its plans to make an upgrade option available for PC makers to offer customers who purchase a new PC with Windows Vista between the beginning of the “Tech Guarantee” period and the general-availability date.The tech guarantee program is not beginning immediately, but Microsoft did raise the possibility it will offer some sort of lower-cost upgrade to those who are already using Windows Vista.

In an interview, Phil McKinney, chief technology officer of Hewlett-Packard’s computer unit, said that he feels good about Microsoft’s launch date.

We’re locked and loaded for the launch,” McKinney said. “The quality of code is just absolutely stellar

The pricing of Windows 7 will be out by June. So how many ordering or ready for a pre order. :grin:

Windows 7 build 7127 leaked to torrents

Its not even a month when the Rc was made public to users,one more build of Windows 7 leaked on internet.The build is Windows 7 build 7127.This new build 7127 is a post RC build. Its the second RTM branch build to leak.The build string is 7127.0.090507-1820. It means the build was compiled on 7th May 2009.I donno how these builds get leaked or is it done by purpose.The builds was given to some Microsoft Connect testers.

I haven’t downloaded it as i feel there arent any much changes than the Rc.Some bugs and errors may be fixed,i am not sure.I prefer not to download from torrent sites as Microsoft warned that the builds from torrent might be infected with Trojan and malwares.Pirates try to create a botnet from these leaked builds and attack computers.So i don’t recommend downloading from the torrent sites.I would next download the RTM once it reaches to Technet/MSDN and the rest of the public.If you still wish to download just give a search on Piratebay or Mininova.Blogsdna got a screenshot courtesy Chinese forum pcbeta.

Disable Error Reporting in Windows 7

I have been always instaling and testing softwares which are compatbile with the Windows RC,but some time i do get some errors and some compatiblity issues.So even you might encounter the same and do get Error Reporting pops up.So next what you would do is go to Action Center and fix the errors.One more way of disabling the error pops is using Group Policy method.

Steps to disable Error Reporting

Give yourself Adminstrative Priviledges first.If you have given proceed.
Open Local Group Policy Editor by typing gpedit.msc in the Start Search and hit Enter.
Now go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Systems > Internet Communication Management > Internet Communication Settings from the left sidebar.
From the main window, select Turn Off Windows Error Reporting and Enable it and your done.
