Opera 10.70 comes with content blocker synchronization

Opera has updated it browser version to 10.70 which comes for Windows, Linux, Mac users.The new release, which has a build number of 3488, made accessing your list of URLs blocked through content blocker from any computer easy by adding the synchronization functionality to it.In the blog post by Opera

It has been a while since we added something to Opera Link, but with this “10.70″ snapshot, we are introducing synchronization of the content blocker. This makes it easy to build and maintain a list of blocked items anywhere you go.

Although this is just a pre release beta build and not a stable build but interested users can give it a try and test this new functionality.There is also a known bug with this build which causes failure of synchronization for existing URLs.Check out the changelog

The blog post also adds

If you already have a list of blocked URLs before enabling synchronization, you might have to add a URL to the block list through the content blocker for synchronization to start working after logging in to Opera Link

iPhone OS 4.0 beta 4 includes AT&T tethering

Few minutes back i posted about iPhone 4.0 OS 4.0 Beta coming into the picture.This OS has an option to setup internet tethering on AT&T.But don’t get too excited too much as AT&T proclaimed that it was “still waiting on better network performance” before enabling iPhone tethering just three weeks ago.With the new tethering option, users would be able to connect the iPhone to Macs or PCs and browse the web using the phone’s data connection. Still, the tethering option will come only for iPhone and not for iPad.

It isn’t surprising that Apple has finally decided to offer tethering option on iPhone devices. Recently, it was reported that Google’s Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’ update will bring tethering option for Android-based devices. Apart from that, an option to convert an Android phone into a portable Wi-Fi Hotspot would also come along.Engadget just set it up and tested it on the iPhone 3GS with a quick network setting reset.Video updating in few moments so stay tuned !

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Beta 1 Build 6.1.7601.16556 Leaks

Previously i had posted about the Windows 7 SP1 beta build 6.1.7601.16537 leaking into the wild and now news is that a new beta of the Windows 7 SP1 build has been leaked.The build number of this new leaked build is 6.1.7601.16556.100421-1510 and the version number is v.172. You can infer from the build string that the leaked build was compiled on April 21st, 2010.

This leaked build is available for download on various unrestricted and unverified sources/ torrent sites but as usual we suggest you to NOT download these leaked builds as these builds might contain malicious trojans thanks to tampered files.

Microsoft has already announced that Windows 7 SP1 will not contain any new features or visual changes. It’ll contain only bug fixes and patches. So don’t expect much of it.If you are waiting for the final RTM version of Windows 7 SP1, you might get it in the end of October or start of November 2010.

“Spirit” iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch (3.2, 3.1.3 & 3.1.2) Jailbreak Mechanism Out

Finally the jailbreak mechanism for iPad is out for the firmware 3.1.3.This mechanism also holds for the iPod Touch and iPhone with the firmware 3.1.3.So this is great news for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users stuck who are stuck on 3.1.3. firmware.Spirit is the name for the jailbreak tool.Let me tell you what Spirit is

What’s Spirit ?

Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch on the latest firmwares( 3.1.3).

Spirit is not a carrier unlock.That means you can not use for unlock it’s only a jailbreak solution.

If you currently are using a tethered jailbreak, you have to restore to use Spirit. Do not upgrade if you use an unlock on an iPhone 3G or 3GS. (You can, however, restore to 3.1.2 if you have SHSH blobs for that version.)

Requirements

Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, or 3.2.

An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.

Any version of iTunes 9 (including 9.1.1).

Syncing with iTunes before trying this highly recommended.

Note: On iPad, all this is still sort of beta. Some packages in Cydia, not designed for iPad, might screw up your system and require you to restore. Be careful. (And no, Cydia’s appearance is not final.)

You can now Download the Jailbreak from Spirit here.Before you try this one out, make sure that you Grab your SHSH files using the AutoSHSH Grabber from here so that if anything goes wrong you can still be Jailbroken. Back them the files up and keep them in a safe place!

Backing ECID SHSH blobs is necessary only for newer iDevices iPhone 3Gs and iPad cause once Apple releases either a firmware patch or when OS 4.0 is released, you wont be able to downgrade back to either 3.1.3 or 3.2.Its a simple One-Click Jailbreak, just like Blackra1n. So it should be easy to use ! This solution would be useful for who are stuck with 3.1.3 OTB as not upgrading from 3.1.2 doesn’t make much difference

Spirit jailbreak is available for Windows (Mirror) and Mac OSX(Mirror).

Ad1tya from forums i often check out gave some info on which apps work on the iPad.Thanks Ad1.;)

SBSettings, Activator, Veency work with the iPad (Theyve been updated).

MobileSubstrate, Preference Loader, etc. work without any updates.

AppSync 3.1 will not work. DO NOT try it.
