In a complete surprising incident Dell did a quick demo of the 5-inch Streak running Android 2.1 (Eclair) in Youtube. The handset, according to Dell, is supposed to get Android 2.2 sometime after launch so we are a bit confused as to why 2.1 is even on the table. We suppose it is a good sign that Dell’s Android team has 2.1 running on this beast, but seriously Dell get Froyo ! What are you waiting for ? Come on Froyo rocks give it to me baby ! As per the reports the device is expected to be at retail price for $299 with a 2-year AT&T contract and $549 full retail.Check out the video after the break.

Just received a mail today from paypal regarding change in policies about payment withdrawal policy changes for indian users and yet again its not a good news for the indian users who use the electronic bank transfer services to transfer their funds to their bank accounts.Effective from July 29th 2010 the Electronic Transfer services will no longer be active for indian paypal users.

So only withdrawal method for Indian users is the Cheque method .The only good thing as of now for the indian users is that paypal is currently waiving of the 5$ charges for the cheque withdrawal for the time being,so you’ll get the full amount for the money you transfer to your cheque.Don’t know whats really cooking up between the indian banks and paypal,i hope they soon will figure something out and start the electronic transfer services as soon as possible.

Apple Stores has been down for couple of hours and would be up soon but what’s surprising here is the iPhone Apple Store app already shows up whats in the store for you.New iMacs and a Magic Trackpad.Apple has announced that they will be refreshing their lineup of Mac Pro computers this August. The new machines will have up to twelve, count em’ twelve, processing cores and offer a 50% speed increase over the current line. Pricing starts at $2,499.Magic trackpad is a wireless touch input receptacle — already thoroughly leaked, trademarked, and FCC-approved — has just made its debut in, of all places, Apple’s Store app for iOS 4. It’s basically exactly what you’d expect: a glass-covered, aluminum-shelled replicator of the glorious multitouch experience on offer in Apple’s MacBooks, only for the desktop. The Trackpad is battery-powered, communicates via Bluetooth fairy dust, and is ready to ship out right this minute for a dollar under 69 bucks.Check BGR for the full press release for the same.
Apple says:
The Magic Trackpad brings the intuitive Multi-Touch gestures of Mac notebook trackpads to the desktop. With its glass surface, the wireless Magic Trackpad enables users to scroll smoothly up and down a page with inertial scrolling, pinch to zoom in and out, rotate an image with their fingertips and swipe three fingers to flip through a collection of web pages or photos. The Magic Trackpad can be configured to support single button or two button commands and supports tap-to-click as well as a physical click.
In addition to these Apple has 27″ cinema display too
Apple quotes:
The new, larger 27-inch LED Cinema Display features a beautiful 16:9 edge-to-edge glass display on an aluminum stand with an adjustable hinge that makes tilting the display almost effortless. The LED Cinema Display has vivid colors and exceptionally high contrast and uses a premium display technology called in-plane switching (IPS) to provide a brilliant image across an ultra wide 178 degree viewing angle.

People from the US are pretty much stuck up with AT&T when it comes to iPhone 4 carriers, but luckily Canadians have a chance to pick or choose the carrier but for a price. When the iPhone 4 goes on sale in Canada on Friday, it will bring with it something relatively new for Canadian wireless customers — the ability to pit the big three service providers against each other.Apple on Monday said it will sell its wildly popular device to customers online and through its own retail stores, as well as through Bell, Rogers and Telus.

The difference with buying the phone directly from Apple is that it will be unlocked and contract-free, so customers will be able to shop around for a service plan with the big three. The iPhone 4 is compatible with all three companies’ networks, so customers would only have to pop in a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card, which carriers generally sell for between $5 and $10, to make it work.
Customers will also be able to switch providers whenever they like and use the phone in other countries with SIM cards from local carriers, which will allow them to avoid roaming charges from Canadian providers.Industry analysts say Apple’s move puts a higher value on the iPhone 4 in Canada than in the United States, where customers currently have only one carrier, AT&T, as an option for the device.

As i said above that this does come with a price. The 16-gigabyte unit will sell for $659 while the 32-GB version will cost $779 and $549 for the 8GB iPhone 3GS.The US conversion would be about $637 / $753 / $530, respectively. This price will put a serious dent in anyone’s budget. Naturally, they’ll all be a lot cheaper with a multi-year contract. Still, if you really don’t like one particular carrier or don’t want to be locked in for a long period of time, maybe the price is worth paying. The selling of unlocked iPhones already exists in other countries as well, but this can help make Americans even more jealous of their northern neighbors.
There’s room for prices to come down and eventually we might have a fairly large proportion of the market that buys phones up front,” telecommunications consultant Johanne Lemay of Lemay-Yates Associates said. “Some people will want it and there will be a market for it, but on the other hand it’s still a very high price.”

Rogers and Telus currently sell the 3GS for a similar price without a contract, but the device is locked to their respective networks. Customers can get the iPhone unlocked through a third party, but doing so incurs an extra charge. If you’re planning to grab a handset in Canada on release day, be sure to let us know which option you’ll be going for in the comments box below. And if you’re planning on buying an unlocked phone, which carrier will you be choosing?

It’s long been the case that if you wanted a HTC handset over in the world’s most populous nation, you’d have had to look for its rebadged variant under the Dopod brand. But, as of today, that is no more. The prolific Taiwanese phone maker has decided that its name is now recognizable and valuable enough in China to be put on its own hardware and is kicking off a campaign with four own-branded phones. The names of the 4 are the Wildfire and Desire which we already know about, the rest two being the Tianxi and Tianyi. While the Tianxi looks like a mildly tweaked HD2 and the Tianyi is a mix-and-match of design elements from the rest of HTC’s portfolio. The company’s also announcing a partnership with China Mobile to bring these puppies to market, so it’s looking like smooth sailing ahead. Check out the press release below

Remember HTC vision leaking into the wild few days back right, here is some new info regarding that.It appears this particular handset may be destined for T-Mobile with its (alleged) 1GHz processor, spacious keyboard and 3.7-inch WVGA screen. Of course, we’d heard that the Vision would appear on T-Mobile.Some of the sources of Engadget informed that could arrive with a different moniker: T-Mobile may call it the “G1 Blaze.”. I am not sure how far is it true only thing we can do is wait and watch.
