I use both an Android smartphone as well as a Apple phone.I hate the default ringtones which come in smartphones both Android and Apple. So what I do on Android is in my list from the MP3′s I have i select and set it as Ringtone the whole song.Sometimes I search the internet for a free time mp3 cutter which will let me trim a portion of the song and then i would transfer it on my memord card and set that as ringtone. But for all this, I will have to find a MP3 cutter and then copy and then set as ringtone which is sometimes a pain. But this is not the case in iPhone. For iPhone you should either go for paid way for a 30 sec ringtone for 0.99$ or use 3rd party ringtone softwares like iToner or iPhoneringtonemaker. So you would first need to convert your mp3, aac, m4a to m4r file and then place it into the iPhone’s /Library/Ringtones folder. This was too tedious.
So today I am going to share with you how you can create a custom ringtones for iPhone and Android online without even registering on the site. The site I am refering to is Melofania
Melofania.com is one of the best free online ringtone conversion tools. For the sake of helping out my readers I will tell you a Step by Step guide on how you can create custom ringtones for iPhone and Android Phones.
Step 1 :
Go to Melofania site and you will see something called as Upload. This is the place where you upload your favourite mp3 to trim and set as ringtone.
Step 2 :
Here select the MP3 file from your folder and wait for the upload process to get over.
Step 3 :
Once the upload is complete you will see a waveform like thing as seen in below snap.I have selected Gotham’s Reckoning Mp3 from Dark Knight Rises Soundtracks.

Listen carefully and select the 30 secs you want to trim. The maximum allowed length of mp3 is 30 seconds. You can make it still shorter if you want to by dragging the 3 red lines on the left and right at the sides.
Step 4:
Once you have selected Click on Create ringtone button there.
Step 5 :
Next you would get a screen where you can set a Artist name and Track name for your custom made ringtone.Fill in the Artist and Track name.I have filled in Hans Zimmer and Gotham’s reckoning.Once that is done Click on Get Ringtone.

Step 6 :
In the next page you will get a preview screen to test how the ringtone is.Verify the ringtone by listening to it and save it as mp3 for mobile phones or save it as m4r for iPhone.

You will get the option to save the files you just made on your computer.Just Copy it into your memory card or use iTunes to put it on your iPhone.
Once you have saved it you are done with the process.
