Rumors were swirling around Microsoft mystery event that, Barnes and Noble may play a role in the announcement of the tablet, e-reader or a crossover of the two which is going to be revealed in a couple of hours. But according to Business Insider, the bookseller has stated that it hasn’t got anything to announce alongside the Redmond company at today’s not-so hush-hush event. Actually it did make sense as none of the top blogs mentioned anything about Barnes an Noble plus after announcing the partnership on April 30th, it would be unlikely for Microsoft to sketch out a plan with Barnes and Noble so soon.

Barnes & Noble spokesperson told Benzinga and confirmed that they are not a part of the event today and it has nothing to do with the rumored Microsoft tablet. Without Barnes & Noble in the mix, speculation on the new tablet shifts to how it will integrate with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console. CNET, for one, reports on rumors that the new tablet will double as an Xbox controller that will “include an ARM processor from Texas Instruments for ‘Kinect workloads,’ as well as custom IBM engine for ‘scale out.’
