Apple has been ignoring the Indian tablet market by not launching the new iPad sooner.Today Apple launched the new iPad in India, with a price tag between Rs.30,500-Rs.50,900.As you know the tablet features stunningly sexy retina display, Apple’s new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5 megapixel iSight camera and 1080pHD video.
Apple said it had slashed the prices by almost 20 percent comparing it with the price of iPad 2, which was launched in India last year, to Rs.24,500.
The new iPads are available in black and white colours. While the 16GB model wi-fi models are available for Rs.30,500, the 32GB model costs Rs.36,500 and 64GB model Rs.42,500, the company said in a statement.I also source iPads from abroad and I can get almost a bit less prices than these.
In addition to India,Apple’s third-generation iPad also was launched in nine additional countries stretching the number of total markets in which the iPad is now available for purchase to 57.Apple reported earlier this week that it sold 11.8 million iPads during the second fiscal quarter, narrowly missing analysts’ expectations but growing two-and-a-half times over the same quarter in 2011.
The iPad wi-fi, 4G tablets are available for Rs.38,900 for the 16GB model, Rs.44,900 for the 32GB model and Rs.50,900 for the 64GB model.
