Few days back i had posted about blackra1n an app released by geohot for jailbreaking iPhones(2G,3G,3GS) and ipodTouch(1G,2G,3G) on 3.1.2 OS firmware.That was only available for Windows users and MAC users had to either wait or go with Pwnage tool.As previous mentioned in my posts,blackra1n is a 30 second ALL device 3.1.2 jailbreak. Even the ipt3, but the ipt3 is tethered. In order to boot it, just rerun blackra1n.The process of jailbreaking is same as that on how you did it on Windows for Mac OSX.But since Pwnage Tool 3.1.4 is made available from Dev-Team its better to use that as it will preserve your unlock on iPhone.Go for blackra1n only when you are on the official supported carriers like AT&T and do not care about unlocking, or the one’s with iPod touches.

Users have reported that the carrier name or logo on the top left side of the status bar is missing.According to Dev-Team, this is caused due to a known bug in ultrasn0w and PwnageTool.Taimur posted a solution to get back carrier logo of your choice:

• Goto “Cydia” on your unlocked and jailbroken iPhone 3.1.2,and give a search for “MakeitMine” app and install it.
• Start “MIM” app on your iPhone and type the name of your carrier

• Touch on “Carrier” button on the top left to save your changes and you should be getting back the carrier logo on a jailbroken and unlock iPhone 3G/3GS running on firmware 3.1.2.
